We know it can be difficult for children to sit through a whole worship service so we provide activities both for pre-school and primary age children to help them enjoy and participate in church.
At the back of the sanctuary there is an area for younger children with an accompanying adult equipped with a choice of activities such as paper and crayons, books and a variety of toys. These can be used at any time during the service if children are a bit restless.
We provide a weekly Sunday School led by Jenny, Dawn and Claire in conjunction with the Minister Jack which takes place during our morning worship for children of all ages up to S1. Parents are welcome to join their children in the small hall for Sunday School or we are happy to look after them for you until you can collect them at the end of the service.
What do you do at Sunday School?
A full children’s programme has been planned for 2018 – 2019, (excluding school holidays.)
The Minister, Jack gives a multimedia Children’s Talk on a theme from the Bible each week during the first part of the Service and afterwards children and their Sunday School leader go to the small hall to enjoy a variety of age appropriate activities related to the Children’s Talk. These include themed games, quizzes, crafts, baking, music and drama.
At Christmas the leaders support the children to plan and give their own presentation of the Christmas story to the congregation.
What’s coming up?
The Sunday School will be supporting Fairtrade Fortnight at the end of February and the beginning of March. A bake sale will be held supported by the congregation to help raise money for vital work with our producers.
In June we mark the end of the Sunday School year with a presentation and party.
We are happy to answer your questions – please contact the Sunday School leaders.
